Restoration of St Helen's Church
In 2001 a major restoration of the church took place at a cost of £170,000.

- Renewal of the whole church floor.
- Installation of a damp course.
- Renewal of the pipework of the central heating system under the new floor.
- Replacement of built in pews with high quality, free standing oak pews to make room for drama, concerts and exhibitions.
- Removal of Sandtex external paint on the internal walls and reversion to limewash.
- Re-point of external masonry.
- Restoration of Rood Screen.
- Improvement of disabled access and installation of a loop system for the hard of hearing.
